Comments
Comments: Conditions: Winter lot on Rt. 302 not plowed, but usable. The road walk was easy on snowmobile tracks. Signal Ridge Trail was broken out nicely, to my surprise. Kudos to the people who broke it out. The first water crossing was snow-bridged over. The second crossing had running water, but low, and easy to cross. The trail was firm and solid with a dusting of snow down low to about 2" of fresh stuff, higher up. I wore my Hillsounds to the 90 degree turn at the end of the long side traverse, and switched to snowshoes and left them on until I was back down on the flats. The ridge was drifted in and also the summit cone, but not hard to break out. Windy across the open ridge, but on the way back, the wind had died. One crawl under blow-down on the way up to the summit. A nice sunny, still day. Only saw two others on the trail today, Pat and Jackie. Nice talking with them.
