Comments
Comments: Spent the night at Zealand and broke trail ~6:30am to beat the three groups staying the weekend. Caretaker mentioned the trail was broken by previous caretaker 3/4 of the way up. SHE FIBBED ;-) The trail was skii'd the week before and was filled to 4" of the top. The trail stopped at the first flat spot (1/2 way there) and the rest was 2-3 feet of wonderful powder. Nobody had been there since last weeks snow which looked to be 2-3 feet at the summit. Coming down was a long slide in 3_ feet of snow. Luckily a small group with AT gear were skiing up where we met 1/2 down. ~3.5 hour hike from Zealand to trailhead near road ~8 hours.
