Most crossings bridged but broke through a few small ones with less stable ice underneath |

Well blazed trail, about half a dozen blowdowns on Mt. Kinsman trail, for the most part all easily navigable. |

Followed one set of tracks up to Bald Knob spur, then broke trail up to KRT - 1-1.5 feet of fluffy snow with a few higher drifts towards the ridge. KRT well packed to the summit. We wanted to get to South Kinsman but were slowed by trail breaking and wouldn't have made it out before dark. Mt. Kinsman trail was already a bit blown in on our way down but still pretty packed out. Sunny skies at the start, flurries and wind and no views from the summit, but still a great day to be out. |
