| Water Crossing Notes: |
Most were reasonable, only one did we need to walk into the water. The level was mostly low. |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
a decent amount of mud throughout from the previous days of rain. For the most part all are avoidable but there were times even when trying to avoid it we slipped in. |
|
| Dog-Related Notes: |
did see any. The slide alone would deter me to bring a dog if I had one. |
|
| Bugs: |
TONS and we had an abundance of bug spray. Typically wasn't a huge issue as long as you kept moving. The summit itself was overwhelming with flies so we didn't stick around too long |

| Comments: |
We hiked up Tuesday the 26th and pitched a tent at near the Franconia Brook trail. Started around 6:30am Wednesday morning. Got to the summit around 11:35am and back to the tent around 5pm or so. The trail wasn't as difficult to follow as I expected or had read so many times before. It would be nice if it was marked better as there are a few times where you a couple different "trails". We had our map on our phone so it was easy to get through without too much diversion. Slide was dry even saw a toad on the way up and a snake on the way down. Although I can safely say I would not hike this mountain again and glad it is done! |
