Comments
Comments: White carpet sidewalk all the way from Crawford Depot to the summit of Mt Tom. Beautiful views to the east and west today from Tom. Willey Range Trail from A-Z to just short of the summit of Mt Field was broken out by one person ahead of us. Many thanks to Todd from Maine for all his hard work in some very deep snow and deeper drifts! Todd, you were only a couple hundred yards from the summit when you turned around. Michael broke out the rest of the way and a couple other groups came up behind us. Soon there were 8 or 9 of us total on the summit of Field. It's safe to say that portion of trail is well tramped out now. Mt Avalon trail was unbroken at the Field summit. Willey Range Trail to Mt Willey was unbroken when we arrived. A group of 3 or 4 (with not too many snowshoes) was going to try to break it out. We opted to head down, due to the incoming storm.
