Comments
Comments: The Osceolas never got that much snow as southern NH did. One hiker had packed the trail the day before with snow shoes. We helped pack it out even better. Were able to use snowshoes from the TH to the top and back, including the ledgy part to Osceola. It was my partner's Per's first winter hike up Osceola and he did a great job handling the steeps up and down with snowshoes. There were more barebooters than snowshoe users today, but most hiked just up to East Peak. The steep section has still lots of rocks showing with ice so it was a bit tricky. Crampons was probably a good choice for many of the hikers. Was glad to finally met Big Foot and Bryan, frequent contributors.
