Peaks
Peaks Mt. Moriah, NH
Trails
Trails: Stony Brook Trail, Carter-Moriah Trail, herd path, road walk
Date of Hike
Date of Hike: Sunday, June 17, 2018
Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Room today in lot and one car parked in clearing up higher.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: The largest one was an easy step across with todays low levels.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: A handful of blowdowns between lot and brook crossing. Appears flooding this spring dumped lots of gravel, rock, sand on trail where it is near brook. As noted in earlier reports a few broken bog bridges.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Met Coco; well behaved backpacker. Not much water up high. Few good drops off edges in spots on Carter-Moriah.
Bugs
Bugs: Deet kept them away; the natural repellant Crystal used not so much.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: A pad (pillow sized) and a water bladder tied to a tree about 1\2 way up Carter-Moriah. Most likely accidently dropped and hopefully another passing backpacker can make use of them.

Comments
Comments: Trails very dry except for a few minor spots not worth mentioning. Much quieter than planned on. Another enjoyable Father's Day hike with Crystal. If I hike into my 80's I may see her finish NH 48 on Father's Day hikes. Came down herd path and road just checking to see if still an option.
