Water Crossing Notes: All crossings passable by rock hopping or walking directly through it was so shallow.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Several blowdowns easily stepped over at lower elevations. At higher elevation a path had been worn around the areas that were not passable; a couple of duck-unders.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Several friendly pups- an old beagle that was working pretty hard to climb the trail in the warmer weather below treeline.
Bugs: Lots of mosquitoes, a few black flies. So windy on the ridge there were no problems with bugs.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found:
Comments: Instead of "Skookumchuck" they should name this trail "Moosepoop". I cannot believe all the fresh scat that was on the trail but didn't see a moose. As far as mud, don't suspect it was much drier than when Diane & Sasha went through last week. Super windy on North Lafayette and Lafayette- had to stay low during gusts to keep my balance. Only a handful of folks used this trail today that I saw. Great day on the ridge.
