| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
You have to cross the Kanc to get from the parking area to the trailhead, at the crux of the hairpin turn, where visibility is short, but speeds are fairly slow. Be careful! |
| Surface Conditions: |
Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable |
| Recommended Equipment: |
| Water Crossing Notes: |
All water crossings were mild. There's enough flow that if you need to refill your water supply, you're not struggling, but it's not enough to get the tops of your boots wet. |
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Trails were in fine shape. There's one blow-down on the North side that makes going up a little bit interesting, but it's not much of a challenge at all. |
| Dog-Related Notes: |
One very happy pup on the trail, enjoying a day out. |
| Bugs: |
Negligible. Bug juice will have an easy time handling its duties. |

| Comments: |
As has happened so often in the past, it was an epic day out. The clouds seemed to really want to rain, but they never did in earnest. Trail maintenance crews have been doing yeoman's work, and it shows quite nicely here. Bog bridges up top are in great shape... I really couldn't find anything wrong with the trails.
More detail on my blog, including photos. There's one yellow flower I'm having trouble identifying. If there's a botanist who knows, please leave a comment so I can update my blog. (And then everyone will know.) |
