A cool morning and SW breeze kept the bugs away most of the day. However, many hungry blackflies met me for lunch on the Mt Hale summit. |

| Comments: |
Work continues on Zealand road, which is still close beyond the Sugarloaf parking area. A pair of new vistas have opened up along the river thanks to last October's storm. Work appears to be close to completion, with a pair of washed-out road edges still to be filled. Zealand trail and hut were very quiet due to the extended walk required. All trails in good condition, except for the usual erosion issues on the Mt Hale trail. |
