Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: The crossings back and forth over Brookside were not a problem (good to have your poles).
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Probably within 0.5 mile of the first view of Durand Ridge, there are quite a few blowdowns on the Airline trail (maybe 5-10?). You can move around these, but they are large blowdowns that will slow you down. Comparatively, going down Watson Path/Brookside, there were some blowdowns, but minor and not that many.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: I saw a bunch of dogs, all of which seemed pleased.
Bugs
Bugs: Yes, the bugs (black flies mainly) were out, mostly on the Airline below treeline section of my journey today. Other than that, and without bug spray, I was fine.
Lost and Found

Comments
Comments: The only snow I encountered on trail was on the Star Lake Trail, where there are a few patches of snow left, but these are all quite soft and easily traversed without additional traction. And I laid down and made a snow angel in May!
