Comments
Comments: Very little snow low down on Diceys Mill Trail. Even at the Rollins Trail Junction, depth was minimal. Barebooted to stream crossing, then microspiked to first serious ice on Rollins; cramponed from there to Whiteface and back to junction. Appreciated crampons for the awkward snow-covered, ice-covered rocks and sloping icy slabs, but the trip was slow and somewhat tedious given the mixed conditions. Some drifting higher up on the Rollins, but very limited and not enough to justify snowshoes. Microspiked back down from junction to road.
