no major water crossings |

| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
few blow-downs between Starr king and Waumbek very manageable |

If the Black flies were more organized they might have been able to carry me away like the monkeys in Wizard of Oz. could not stop and take a break for the first 3/4 of Starr king due to black flies. Recommend Bug Stray |

| Comments: |
first 3/4 of the trail was in great shape, well maintained. The mile between Starr King and Waumbek had narrow monorail with deep snow on either side. was manageable without traction but significantly slowed the pace down. |
