Kinsman Ridge Trail: some major blowdowns cause portions of the trail to be extremely dangerous. For example, there is a blowdown where you have to go over the tree on a 70% grade with a steep dropoff. Some parts of the monorail (which starts about 3/4 up the trail) are super icy so remember to bring some microspikes.
Hi-Cannon Trail: No problems with the trail or the flies but on the upper portions, watch your step on the upper sections because of wet slabs. Tons of snowfields on the Lonesome Lake plateau. Monorail ends about halfway down the trail.
I also took a detour to Lonesome Lake and there is an unstable monorail on the around the lake trail. Was postholing all over the place. |
