Comments
Comments: Very little natural snow at Wildcat to around 3300 feet . We ascended on mostly closed and snow making trails where there were some huge piles of manmade. Got close to skiers in a few places ..some icy and narrow spots. took the bushwack around D on ascent and climbed to the platform on return.. Some very hard blue ice intermixed with packed out frozen granular conditions..some packed very smoothly from sliders,. After an elbow mashing fall I switched from snowshoes to minicrampons and these worked out perfect all the way back to the car. .Talked to several curious skiers and a few very friendly ski patrol guys who were very clear that we should have fun!! Congrats to Val on her second round finish!! Nice views towards the Presis at times..very nice day out with no wind
