Comments
Comments: exposed trail for 1st 0.8, snow with spikes to end of HNT, in and out of snow and ice for the rest of the day. Could have bare booted CBT and a long stretch of HLT but didn't on the way in thinking snow and ice would return. in and out of snow/ice up north. lots of snow between north and south with plenty of precious pencil thin rail made for a slow crossing. had great solo views from both peaks, nice to sit and enjoy time on the summits. snow and ice all the way down south, removed spikes about 0.3 past north-south Junction and bare booted back to car. note - time to use the old spikes if you have them.... my 'were fairly new" spikes were screaming for relief - should have known better. snow and ice is melting fast over the last 2 weeks.
