Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: No large water crossing to speak of other than Austin Brook which has the Cable Car which we used on the way out and then crossed the brook where the Yellow Trail crossed by hopping on rocks, although the wife wanted to get her feet wet!
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: On the Yellow Trail out from Scudder to Mill Brook Road, 1 large blow down. On the Scudder Trail from the Ingals-Cabot Connector a few blow downs that will require some work. Judson Pond Trail is lightly used, first 1/10 of the trail is covered in leaves, watch closely for yellow blazes, next 2/10 are in a active logging area basically you are walking over and around the slash, it even crosses an active logging road. The last 1/10 to the pond is the same as the first, leaf covered, follow blazes.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Saw one dog on the Yellow Trail, looking like he was having a great time.
Bugs
Bugs: Well, tick heaven. we pulled 10+ ticks off us, well mostly me at the end of the hike. Probably picked them up on grassy parts of Scudder and the Yellow Trail.

Comments
Comments: @nd hike of the day doing some redlining of the Shelburne range. Scudder for the first mile is a old logging road wide and grassy i.e. ticks, climbs steadily, good views back at the Northern Pressies. Back into the woods at the Ingalls-Cabot Connector then the trail traverses the eastern slope, open at times on slabs with more views toward Adams and Washington, Boot Spur, etc. The last slab is a wonderful view, but the true summit is in the wood about a 0.1 mile. Ray's Pond is another 0.1 farther along. Spent a nice break on the viewpoint of Ingalls, should be a 52WAV! Judson Pond, see above, only a redliner would do it (new for the 30th edition). Took the Yellow Trail over to the Red Trail and back over to the Austin Brook Trail. We did the cable car across Austin Brook on the way out and then rock hopped across Austin Brook at the actual Yellow Trail crossing on the way back. Road walk back on Mill Brook to the car. Great views and great day, NPD.
