|Hiking Trail Conditions Report|
||Wildcat D, NH|
||Lost Pond Trail, Wildcat Ridge Trail|
|Date of Hike:
||Thursday, May 10, 2018|
|Parking/Access Road Notes:
||Glen Ellis Falls parking lot was still gated, so I opted to park at Pinkham Notch visitors center, where there were other vehicles. |
||Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable, Snow/Ice - Monorail (Stable), Snow/Ice - Monorail (Unstable), Snow/Ice - Postholes |
|Water Crossing Notes:
|Trail Maintenance Notes:
||A few small blowdowns that could be climbed over or ducked under. |
|Lost and Found:
||I had planned on doing Wildcat D & over to A, but the postholing on WRT got so frustrating that I decided to descend via the ski trails, after reaching Wildcat D, since it took a lot longer to hike up. A couple times I postholed up to the top of my thigh. |
Going down the ski trails wasn't bad. There is plenty of bare ground so you don't have to walk through what is left of the snow.
