Water crossing near parking lot can be avoided using bypass shortly up Kancamagus. The water can otherwise be crossed without much effort. |

Dog should be securely fastening for some short sections at upper elevation. Traction lost easily down slide. |

| Comments: |
Light traction essential for some short stretches. ran into folks sharing a single set of microspikes and they were significantly slowed down.
Not enough time to summit do to a late start, but the junction provides a nice relaxing area to stop. Minimal views until high elevation.
The trail to Champney falls is clear of ice and no traction was required. |
