Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: New, small softwood blowdown just west of summit of Little Sugarloaf -- leaning into the trail. Another, larger softwood blowdown on Elwell Trail just before the steep climb begins to the summit of Sugarloaf. Elwell Trail could use a small amount of maintenance brushing in some sections, where saplings are encroaching on the corridor, between the two Sugarloaves and also the last half mile of trail east of intersection with Hebron-Alexandria Turnpike.

Comments
Comments: Based on fine conditions from our quick hike the day before -- with the trail drying out nicely on that sunny day -- we decided to trail run the Elwell Trail, Hebron-Alexandria Turnpike, Bear Mountain Road, and West Shore Road back to the trailhead. Trail conditions are decent, with only some minor mud/pooled water here and there but easy to avoid.

Hebron-Alexandria Turnpike is in good shape, too, with just some mud at the top -- near the Elwell Trail -- but this dries out after a short distance.

Very quiet Sunday morning -- nothing but critters.
