Comments
Comments: Definitely be prepared to use every type of footwear you carry. We bare booted Zealand road and the first half mile or so of Hale Brook. After the first stream crossing we switched to snow shoes, which were absolutely necessary today. The trail from there to the summit of Hale was relatively stable if we stayed on the packed sections. From there the Lend-a-Hand was a mess. We all got soaked even with snowshoes - the snow is melting quickly! Zealand Falls Hut looked to be in great shape and we were able to bare boot from there to the Zealand trailhead. Overall it was a great day but wet and muddy.
