Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Lucy handled the frozen ski trail in the early morning hours easily and stayed in the center of the softening trail on the ridge. Being a small dog helped not punching through the monorail

Lost and Found
Lost and Found: A single glove was hanging from a branch and I took the heavy, wet glove with me. It has a camouflage coloring with a yellow balm. If it is yours and you still have the other one let me know and I'll forward it to you.

Comments
Comments: To avoid the forecast rain I started early and found microspikes adequate to get up Polecat ski trail. On the return the icy, glazed snow had softened enough to allow barebooting. Wildcat ski area will be open this weekend for the last time. As it was closed during the week I could take Lucy with me. Once on the ridge the trail had no postholes and I switched to snowshoes on Wildcat D. As long as I stayed in the center of the packed trail I had no problem. The snow depth is still great and snowshoes is the only way to go. The only hiker I met was Andrew, who is working on his grid, and he wore snowshoes from the start to take advantage of the televators.
