Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: PARK WITH CARE! We arrived early and parking lot was fairly solid, packed snow. Upon our return, the parking lot was soft, mushy snow and we got stuck trying to get out. Unless you have 4WD, I'd suggest parking in the main lot and not trailside parking.

Comments
Comments: Today was a gorgeous day to be on the mountains. We wore spikes from the car to above the hut. By 10 AM, the snow was pretty soft & unstable so we switched to snowshoes. We were very glad to be on snowshoes and stayed on them for the rest of the trip. We saw about 10 others out there but we were the only ones wearing snowshoes. Most of the postholes aren't too deep but between the postholes and previous butt sledders, we preferred the added traction and floatation of the snowshoes.
