The lower part of piper small patches of ice except in patches. About 1 miles in it was think ice all the way to the top. The summit was covered in ice. 5 out of the 10 people in the group declined to finish the last .2 miles to the summit. I slid twice out of control on the way down. The ice at the top was more like crampon material. A hiker from another group did the summit in running shoes without any traction. I would not recommend this at all. |
