Trail was untracked. About ~1in of fresh snow towards the base and ~2-3in of fresh snow as elevation increased. Used snowshoes all the way up. Once the trail was broken in, used microspikes and barebooted most of the way down. Really windy once we broke treeline and didn't hit the hut until ~3pm so decided to turn around. Had no issues on the way down but there is still plenty of snow on the trail. Took Valley Way all the way up and down to be in the protection of the trees longer due to the winds. |
