Comments
Comments: So much effort to hike in this wet snow! I used Wildcat's Polecat trail to ascend in the dark, staying to side of trail in my snow shoes. Had a little rain at times. At Wildcat D, I set off on Wildcat Ridge trail which had deep, wet snow. I sunk in over 6 inches at times- in spite of the obvious tracks of others up there. Everything was wet. Reached Wildcat A and turned back- delighted to find that by staying in my tracks, I could move much more speedily and with less effort to return. Took closed Lynx trail down since the ski area was now open and didn't want to get hit in the fog by a skiier! Lynx trails had long sections of no snow cover.
