Numerous blowdowns (crawl unders) on the Square Ledge Trail before the first viewpoint from the Passaconaway Cutoff. Not a maintenance issue, but the lack of blazes in the wilderness area makes trail finding challenging, lost the Wonalancet Range Tr and the Square Ledge Trail a few times. |

| Lost and Found: |
I lost my small pad somewhere between Passaconaway Summit and the 1st viewpoint on the Square Ledge Trail. Also lost my stuffed penguin, but the one person I saw must have found it because it was on my windshield when I got back, thanks hikers are great people! |

A found Friday, ending up finishing my home project on Thursday so I a free day to hike. Wanted to try some new trails and different way to Passaconaway. Started out in bare boots until the turn onto the Wonalancet Range Trail, then into Hillsounds. Didn't take long before I got sick of slipping and sliding and switched to the snowshoes which I was carrying. Did run into one other hiker on Passaconaway with 2 dogs who was in trailrunners and came over Whiteface and was heading back the way I came. Walden Trail was a solid ice climb out of the col to the Square Ledge Trail, even more fun because I did it in snowshoes. East Loop up to Passaconway was also solid ice with all of the thawing and refreezing. Ending wearing the shoe until about 1 mile from the end on the Old Mast Road. No one had been up Square Ledge Trail for a while, so even in snowshoes i was sinking over 6", but without I would have been postholing. Long day 9 hours for almost 11 miles. Great day though with all of the rain and snow coming this weekend. |
