Hit the trail early morning so temps were still below freezing and I managed comfortably with spikes. Didn't veer off trail. Trail is packed from traffic and flexing temps but definitely not if you wander off, you will need snowshoes. By the end of the trip it was nearly 50 and the top couple of inches were getting slick. I wandered out just in time. Pack both for the trek so you are prepared to switch over if temps are up.
Summit was chilly but full sunshine and blue skies. Overall an easy hike. Definitely the season of layers! Take the clothes off, put them back on, take them off, put them back on. I love spring :) |
