| Comments: |
The entire way from Lafayette Place to South Kinsman was over packed snow, very easy going in snowshoes. I saw plenty of boot prints, even up on the ridge trail, so some people must have managed without snowshoes. The snow was wet and heavy.
The only downside to today's hike was that the temperature was above freezing, which meant that the snow in the canopy was melting and dropping down all day. Although it was warm enough for just a base layer, I ended up wearing a waterproof jacket to keep from getting soaked. Other than that, both summits were in the clear under cloudy skies. |
