Comments
Comments: Snow was very sticky going up until we got above treeline. Not nearly as much snow up there and not sticky. For a while we were in foggy/soupy conditions and kept sight of the next cairn. By the time we reached the trail up Clay, the clouds blew away for a while and the views were fantastic.
On the weather channel this morning it reported 7 mph winds on top of Washington. That must have been an error as the wind was blowing 30 to 40 mph.
Put on cramp-ons to go down the Crawford Path and for Monroe. Below the hut the trail is somewhat chopped up from barebooters, smoother after the Gem Pool.
