Bugs: Yes -- ticks -- seriously. Just one, but it makes sense given some areas of the trail that are now quite warm, sunny, and full of dry leaves.

Comments
Comments: We've been on this route a few times now in the past couple of weeks, and the snow melt has been pretty dramatic. We brought light traction but never really needed it on the half of the trail that has any ice/snow on it, as there's plenty of slushy snow on the side of the trail to use for secure footing. Other sections of the trail are mostly clear and dry, including the ledges near/around the summit -- they're 99 percent snow/ice-free.

Give this route a week or two, and it should be mostly melted out.

On one section of the Orange Trail near Goose Pond, it appears that a snowmobile lost quite a bit of transmission fluid -- there's a 30-square-foot area of pink all over the trail, atop a thin layer of ice that is angled toward the pond.
