Comments
Comments: Beautiful day for an out-and-back from Lincoln Woods to the 3 Bonds. Warm temperatures, light winds, and spectacular views. Lincoln Woods was a firmly-packed highway. After that, there was a nice snowshoe trench almost all the way up to the Bondcliff summit, then again descending from Bond and on the spur to West Bond. Be prepared to be assaulted by numerous branches at higher elevations- I was happy not to be taller! Snowshoes were definitely the footwear of choice, especially as the snow softened in the afternoon. Exception was the open section of ridgeline between Bondcliff and Bond, which didn't have sufficient cover for snowshoes- but did have occasional drifts and minimal ice. I bare-booted this section without difficulty.
