Comments
Comments: Packed powder and a good trail to Mt. Surprise (about 2 miles). Thought it was going to be an easy day. A few false trails around Mt. Surprise - but no broken trail beyond. Ending up joining with 2 other groups of 3 - and the 7 of us (and Cinnilla) broke trail on the 2.5 miles from Surprise to Moriah. Deep snow - over 3' in some places. Trail location was difficult in some parts. Took 6 hours to reach the summit - 2 hours for the descent. Trail should be perfect now - until we get more snow! Thanks to my fellow hikers. I never would have made it on my own (even with Cinnilla's tenacious help!)
