Comments
Comments: Very cold start -15 at 8:00 AM. Trail partially packed so alpine snowshoes best option all the way to Lakes of the Clouds. Should have switched to crampons for attempt on Monroe. Abandoned attempt at about 5250' because of poor footing with snowshoes and dangerous wind chills (-7F with 35 mph sustained and 45 mph gusts = -35F to -45F).

Lots of traffic coming up on our way down so the route was probably well packed by the end of the day.
