Crawford Path well broken out to about 4200’. Saw a mix of people bare-booting, in spikes, and in snowshoes. Our group opted for spikes. Up to Mizpah Springs Cut-Off, trail was pretty well packed. 6 inches off the monorail on either side, and you were thigh-deep. Above the Cut-Off junction, snow was less consolidated. Would have helped to have had snowshoes here, but not a deal-breaker. Once out of the trees, trail eventually died amongst waist-to-chest-high snow. Turned around and tucked tail to get a well-earned burger at Black Mountain Burger. |
