old bridle path in excellent shape. well packed out to the hut. greenleaf a mix of snow and rock pretty wind scoured and styrofoam-esque. the ridge had decent snow coverage to lincoln then thinned out a bit over to little haystack. a couple deeply drifted sections in the low spots between the peaks. no ice worth mentioning. falling waters broken, but a little loose and postholed up top then nice and smooth the rest of the way out. snow became pretty sticky this afternoon. crossings on falling waters semi bridged up high and the final and lowest was fully snow bridged.
used snowshoes the entire loop. got a little bony between lincoln and little haystack and light traction may have been better, but i only brought full crampons which would have been a bit much.
stellar day up high. mild temps and low winds made for a much different feeling than the last few days. the views were great to the rest of the whites and out to vermont. came face to face with a pine marten a short ways up from the hut. hadn't seen one in years. cute little bugger (if you aren't a rodent....). awesome day to be out.
