Brooks are either narrow enough, dry enough, or iced-over enough to present no problems. |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Blowdowns at the ridge. None so significant that they can't be avoided. Someone with a trail saw could make quick work of most of it in no time at all. |
|
| Dog-Related Notes: |
Saw two that were having the times of their lives down in the flatter section of the trail. |

| Comments: |
Trail is packed down rather nicely throughout, with no glazing that I could notice. Full-bore crampons were appreciated in the steep sections for providing lots of additional sure-footedness; traction of some kind is necessary. As others have remarked, the chimney is easily bypassed on the right (as you go up). There were a couple spots where having an ice axe made faster travel. A few areas of snowdrifts at the top, nothing major.
Pictures will be posted on my blog shortly. |
