upper crossings had fairly intact snow bridges with some bareboot punch outs..one near the parking lot flowing but easily rock hoppable |

Potential high winds kept us low today.. 6-8 inches of snow at base increased a bit as we climbed..first look up the ramp from the viewpoint kind of sketchy with many rocks showing and fresh snow essentially blown off ..once to 3200 feet or so depths increased to 12 inches plus with deeper drifts.. From the loop junction to the summit we broke out several mid thigh deep spots with some deeper and only only a little let up..Summit blown pretty clear of new snow..older frozen granular base there . Met some happy barebooters along the ridge who thanked us for breaking out the trail for them.. sadly upper part of the trail likely a mess at this point . 14 degrees with 20 mph winds with higher gusts at summit and along the ramp..wind was roaring higher up for sure..this was a good choice today |
