| Comments: |
There is a fresh layer of snow but due to the melting and warmer temps last week there is some very slippery ice conditions from water rushing down the trail and then refreezing. The fresh snow was making it extremely slippery and unable to see the really bad ice patches about 1 mile in to the junction of North carter. Better footing from there to the summit. Failed to summit as the winds were howling on the ridge and blowing us around and the snow was coming down in sheets. Glad I had my GPS at times to keep us on the trail. But I cant stress enough to be careful of ICE! |
