| Comments: |
A straightforward early winter hike - snow depths ranged from very little at the trailhead to what seemed like only a few inches on the summits. Microspikes were adequate - I put them on at the ravine on the ascent, and wore them all the way back to the trailhead without too much trouble with bare rocks. I had crampons, but never felt they were needed, though there were a few spots where ice+steepness demanded extra care. There could be major changes, though, over the next 24 hours..... |
