| Comments: |
Microspiked up just as the storm started this morning without issue. Trail was firm with the sub freezing conditions. Full snowcover top to bottom, ranging from 1 to 3 feet, but generally around 3 feet above the ski trail viewpoint. A stretch of monorail on the Sosman summit loop.
That said, the storm had already dropped 2 inches by lunch time. The ridge was a different story; the winds had already dropped foot deep drifts of powder. If I were hiking it this afternoon, I'd be wearing snowshoes. Only encountered four other hikers, all booting, so the new snow won't be packed down today. |
