Comments
Comments: Skinned up pretty far, ditched my skis before the last branch crossing, most of the little streams were open and I had to keep taking my skis off (and I wouldn't be able to ski down above there anyway). Put on the mirco-spikes and my snowshoes stayed on my pack (not sure why I didn't ditch them but I hate post holing more than I do carrying my snowshoes). Snow was firm and post holes and ruts still remain. Passed by two nice gentlemen out with their golden labs on their way to Moriah too. On the C-M-T, on the ridge in open areas there is plenty of bare rock and ice. The southern ledges of Moriah were bare and beautiful. The sky was gray but the clouds were very high above the peaks, actually there was great viability today. 360 degree full panorama was an excellent reward today. Today I had a double list finish--this peak completes my NH Hundred Highest Winter list and I no longer belong to the "just one more peak to finish the winter-48 club". Many thanks to my friends that I have hiked and bushwhacked with over all these peaks and more. Skiing back back down required taking my skis off and on a few times but it was speedy.
