Forty degrees at the trailhead at 7a.m. and the same at 3 p.m. made for some soft snow. Trail is well packed from the parking lot all the way to the summit. If it freezes up you'll be able to hike it in spikes. I saw one guy in bare hiking sneakers who wasn't post-holing too badly.
