Comments
Comments: Above the Rollins Trail junction, but below the former Camp Rich and loop junctions, are large blue ice flows. Below Rollins jct I meet two gentlemen who turned back due to these ice flows. They were only equipped with Stabilicers and decided not to risk it. I had already put on Hillsound spikes for the "stairs" and continued up knowing I could switch to full crampons if necessary. I was satisfied with the bite of the spikes on the ice flows, but others might want/need full crampons: recommend having both. I used only the west side of the loop to the summit and back, there was only spotty/minimal ice above the jucntion.
