Comments
Comments: Snowshoes roundtrip this morning as the snow just started. Decent snowshoe track for the first half or so. Drifting started in the saddle. Some bare rock and blue ice on the ascent up to the Rim Trail, as well as snow blowing hard in the wind. A few deep drifts from there up to the tower.

Descended to the Tram lodge, which was closed because the upper mountain lifts were closed. We descended the Vista Way ski trail, which was extremely icy (large blue ice bulges). Stuck to the treeline in the snow drifts. Dropped back into the woods at the entrance of the Kinsman Glade, which was good snowshoeing from there back to where it overlaps with the hiking trail.

Snowpack is anywhere from about 2 feet to 5 feet in some drifts. Fortunately everyone we saw was wisely wearing snowshoes.
