Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Nada
Comments: Started at 3pm. Spikes all the way. Trail is hard packed uneven, so it’s taxing on the ankles and knees after awhile. Things start getting interesting around square ledge branch. Spots of hidden ice bulges under the new 1” snow, so just be cautious. Once at the passaconaway loop, if you go up the east side it becomes very difficult if you choose to do it in spikes. Lots and lots of hidden ice bulges. I would recommend crampons here and not taking a dog who doesn’t have experience. You can avoid this by heading up the west side of diceys mill. There’s a lot less hidden ice. With all that said I would recommend up only on the east or up and down on the west to play it on the safe side if you don’t have the equipment. The Rollins trail is much of the same. Lots of hidden ice in the steepest parts. Vaya my shepherd had fun but also had her moments where she was weary because of all the hidden ice. Gaia had us at 5:34 but something went wrong with the app because we were actually closer to 6:20 for the trip
