Comments
Comments: Snow was slushy initially---some mild postholing (20 cm) without snowshoes; no problems with. Snow hardened as expected with altitude (-3 to -6 C most of the day). Treeline transition had some deeper drifts and some icy patches, but not difficult to scramble over. Above treeline there was very little snow, and a little rime ice (<5 cm buildup). We had crampons with us but did not use them---microspikes were sufficient all the way up to the summit. Wind (gusts up to ~60 km/h?) made hiking poles useful on the scrambles.
