Facts : A sidewalk from BB TH to Galehead hut. Bare boots up to the steeps on the Gale River trail. Spikes the rest of the day. Unfortunately the Twinway above the hut is quite rough. The track is more than solid enough to make snowshoes unnecessary which is a good thing because there are a lot of ankle twisting holes. Things smooth out again on the No. Twin spur. A shout out to those who made that stretch so pleasant. A bluebird day on some fine peaks.
Opinion : Amazing what difference a month, some traffic, and two inches of rain with warm weather can make. I tried this same hike in Dec; got only as far as So. Twin where I turned around because I was spent. My rubber legs were not going to break the way to No. Twin. |
