About 1.5 mi up the Starr King Trail there is a large tree snapped near the base and hanging over the trail. Currently it isn't an issue, but I could see a couple more heavy snows bringing it crashing down onto the trail. |

| Comments: |
The Starr King Trail was well-packed given how popular this summit is in winter. Microspikes were all that were needed for the day. Starr King and Waumbek were both in the clouds when I arrived so I had no views. On the way down, I noticed that some folks with butt sleds had really smoothed out the bottom mile or so of the trail. |
