Comments
Comments: Southern Presi Traverse with three of us from RGoH. Used snowshoes up to Lakes of the Clouds hut where two of us switched to full crampons and one of us microspikes. Crampons would be useful for the ledges just below the hut. Monroe was windy but not uncomfortable. We really hit the winds on the other side of Franklin in the Monroe/Eisenhower col and up to the summit. I would guess 50-60mph sustained. We had trouble balancing and walking straight. The last few hundred feet to the Eisenhower summit was crazy. Other side of the summit over to Pierce was pretty straight forward as the trail is partially covered. Crawford Path down to the highland center is a highway.
